Last year we designed a Shabby Chic Pony Party that we’ve received an incredible amount of feedback about. We are so ecstatic that everyone loved it as much as we did! One of the photos featured a delicious dessert in mason jars. We wanted to give you the recipe for the Lemon Pound Cake Parfait and show how you can re-create this for your next spring time soiree!The Italian Dish has the yummy recipe we used with step by step instructions on how to make the parfait specifically for the mason jars. In order to top with a fabric lid, fill the jars only 1/2 to 3/4 of the way full. The mason jars are big enough that was still plenty of dessert!
There’s a recipe for lemon pound cake as well. Since we are all about saving time, the store-bought pound cakes work perfectly, too! Once you’ve assembled the individual desserts, let’s make them pretty! We found fabric that matched our theme, and cut into squares large enough to cover the mouths of the jars. Use specialty serrated scissors when cutting the fabric to give a clean, yet lovely detailed look. Wrap the fabric to secure as a lid with coordinating bakers twine. Attach a few stamped wooden forks, and voila! Cute little desserts made for each guest.
